For me with this series of images, the excitement was mixed with fear. A worry that the birth would happen before the images came together.

We did not have the luxury of picking beautiful light or being outside. Sometimes it is just more important to have those that are your family “together”.

So while I did manage to get gorgeous outdoor images yesterday of Liz and her baby bump. I am happy that we also have some images of Scott & Liz together. Here are a few of those!

“I love you mum, you are the best mother anyone could ask for. You are a lot better mum than I will ever be because I am giving my kid a horrible name but I will still try and live up to how fantastic you are. You are the golden girl today and if Parso tries to make you do anything I will smack him in the head for you
Love you so much mumma ♥”

Meaghan wrote this for me this morning We laugh & joke with her, when she tells us her plans, for the future. Secretly though I love it, even the strange names she has picked out. And the decisions she has pre-made about what they will wear!

I’m glad she thinks I’m fantastic, although I’m sure not all of the time. Today though, after some great things including a new pink patent Victoria’s secret tote, that I found at the markets for her, she truly loves me

She really makes me laugh when she gets irate about Dave, who she lovingly refers to as “Golden Boy”. Today apparently I am not allowed to do anything for him, he has to do it himself! As it seems that I do everything for him (according to Megsy) Dave might not have such a great Mother’s Day! Starving to death is a real possibility..

Anyhow I love her to bits (and Dave) yesterday we had a movie afternoon, and she snuggled on the couch. I love days where I don’t have to leave the house, until my friends turn up for our 2 hour run!

The photographer felt a little insulted, but kept checking off the list as the shoot progressed. At the end of the shoot all of the boxes had been ticked. However there was no in between shots, candid shots, silly, crazy moments! She had been too busy checking off the list.

So while it’s lovely to have posed, set up shots. I also believe it is equally important to let your photographer do their thing and capture those beautiful “real” moments.

So when booking a session, discuss what you want and once you are comfortable that you are on the same page. Be confident the photographer will not only capture your vision, but also the things you need, but don’t know it yet. I can’t tell you the number of images from a light hearted in between moment, I have had a client fall in love with!

It was to be the 25th Anniversary of the Winter Whale’s swim. But for the first time in the history of the event, it was cancelled minutes before it was due to start.

The weather was perfect, the water not so! Big swells, and difficult condition’s around at the point. The organizing committee being cautious after the incident at the Australian Life Saving Titles, and that the mini swim had gone ahead, with quite a few problems. Decided that 2500 people in the water at once was quite a big risk.

In the mini 800m swim, the boys who went first had a lot of trouble even getting out off the beach, with quite a few giving up. They redirected the girls, in the hope they would find it easier. Not to be. A lot were swept way off course, needing to be rescued. Water safety numbers were tested and a rubber duck was flipped trying to get to some of them. Keep in mind these were young kids! The final straw was losing an 11 year old girl for a few minutes, which I bet felt like an hour! Finally they found her way off course but still trying to swim in.

They made the right call. Safety has to be the number one priority.

So once people realized there would be no race today, they were left to stand on the beach to contemplate their next move. While some did swim it, determined souls. If they had required assistance, I’m sure they would of expected it? I think they were ignorant and a little foolish, especially with many people surfing the conditions in the same spot the few swimmers were trying to come in.

We hung around for a while, Meaghan quite relieved that she didn’t have to swim it, the large dumping shore break didn’t appeal to her at all! Dave was with the swim camp crew and once they officially couldn’t swim due to insurance cover being voided. They hopped back onto the tour bus and left to eat lunch and play a game of touch football.

So again I find myself with one frame that summed up the warm May Sunday.

Warm, Stunning location and a crowd of swimmers with nothing to do

The image above does not do the rough conditions justice, there was around a 3 foot swell at the point and on both beach fronts, start and finish.

Warm-heartedness reinforces our self-confidence – giving us not a blind confidence, but a sense of confidence based on reason. When you have that you can act transparently, with nothing to hide! Likewise, if you are honest, the community will trust you. Trust brings friendship, as a result of which you can always feel happy. Whether you look to the right or the left, you will always be able to smile.
